Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald(September 24, 1896 – December21, 1940) was an American JazzAge author of novels and shortstories. He is regarded as one ofthe greatest twentieth centurywriters. Fitzgerald was of the selfstyled “Lost Generation,”Americans born in the 1890s whocame of age during World War I.He finished four novels, left a fifthunfinished, and wrote dozens ofshort stories that treat themes ofyouth, despair, and age.
